Peach State Federal Credit Union Celebrates Ribbon Cutting Ceremony at Gracewood Branch
AUGUSTA, GA (March 24, 2016) – Peach State FCU celebrated the completion of their renovated Gracewood branch located at 2048 Tobacco Road with a ribbon-cutting ceremony and open house event on Wednesday, March 23rd.
“We’re excited to present the newly renovated branch to local officials and our members with this celebration,” said Peach State’s President/CEO, Marshall Boutwell. “The ribbon-cutting ceremony marks our dedication to serve our Augusta area member-owners with a top of the line facility.” The branch was home to Richmond Community Federal Credit Union which merged with Peach State FCU last summer.
Former Richmond Community FCU Board members Jeff Padgett, Bob Bradford, Brewtie Lawton and Clarence Canada offered congratulations to the staff and members, and assisted with the ribbon-cutting ceremony. Mrs. Neita Mulherin, wife of the late Brian J. Mulherin, Sr., was also in attendance. Mr. Mulherin, former Director Emeritus, was remembered at the event for his contributions and years of service to the community and Richmond Community FCU.
The Gracewood branch, originally built in 2008, underwent extensive renovations by Howe Construction, Inc. to improve the floor plan. The goal was to provide additional office space and update the interior design, making it consistent with the Peach State brand.
Peach State selected Howe Construction, headquartered in Roswell, GA as their design-build company of choice. Stan Howe, President of Howe Construction, remarked, “This is our tenth plus project with Peach State. We are grateful for our long-term service and relationship. We wish them the best of continued growth and success in Augusta and beyond.”
The renovation included a transitional teller line designed to give the member-facing employees more space, as well as new offices, lighting, furniture and art work. Other changes were in reworking the back of house area to renovate and open up restrooms to members as well as upgrade the break room and back offices.
The ribbon cutting ceremony was followed by an open house event that served more than 200 credit union members and guests. Lunch was provided for the attendees by Howe Construction, and Peach State’s vehicle buying service, MEMBERS AutoChoice™.
